Can anyone identify this very large bush/tree I found in Threave Garden in Kirkcudbright. Has lovely white flowers and underneath the flower head dark purple stems. A beautiful bush. Thank you.

I just love Kirkcudbright...once had a holiday there and visit all the fabulous gardens in Dumfries and Galloway..inc Logan botanic etc.
The garden there is Broughton House.

If you went to Threave then that is near castle Douglas... another super garden.

You didn't clarify which garden the Philadelphus was in Broughton or Threave.
Kirkcudbright or Castle Douglas?
