This is always the problem, whether with TV programmes, magazines, youTube or anything else @Sheps. The assumption that everyone has similar conditions.
Light is another factor that affects seed sowing timings and plant welfare too.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
This is where this forum really comes into its own … a wide range of gardeners spread over the UK, mainland Europe and beyond …, even the antipodes … with experience of a wide range of climatic conditions. 😃

You wouldn't feel like planting in our area east of Lincoln it's like back end I am sure the nights were warmer in Feb , in fact I have had to put the heating back on to warm things up in the bathroom before going to bed and putting it back on before getting up, I can manage without it but my wife bless her who has a debilitating disease which is heart breaking to say the least can't manage without it been on for a short time, those who keep saying how warm it is they want to thank their lucky stars.
I've just planted out some very small tomato plants (2) and a very small courgette plant (but definitely bigger than wee seedlings) into a border.
I think the plants are almost certainly too small and it's been really chilly (last week we had day time temps of 13-14C and night time temps down to 4 or 5C). Ideally I'd pot them on and give them another couple of weeks of TLC but - it's a case of needs must.
We go away for 3 weeks next week. There will be nobody reliable to water them so they have to go in the ground where they can access soil moisture. However, the ground is now drying out very rapidly as we've had no rain for a month.
I'll be giving them each a can of water every day in the hopes that I can get a large area of the soil surrounding each plant reasonably moist before we go. I'll then give them a decent mulch and cross fingers.
I know it's not the right attitude but, at less than £1 each, even if they all fail it will still have cost less than a M&S sandwich...
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

@Plashing I’m sorry to hear about your wife 💐 I often whinge about our Edwardian house which I honestly feel, is sometimes colder than outside! Cold weather is so hard to deal with if you are poorly 💐
I’m going to wait until there are another set of leaves until planting on… the pot looks huge but anyway. Let’s see what happens. There are more seedlings I will keep until they are bigger just incase!
...so, thinking in a bit more detail, if I'm planting small tomatoes into giant pots, but the pots are in the greenhouse, it's not going to have the cold and wet shock it might have if the pots are outside...
We’ve only had one night that reached 8° every night had been colder. I planted out my beans because they’d got so tall, next year I will sow them on the 1st June.
I should know by now, end of May and into June are always cold nights.
