You can either ask for all your own Threads and Posts to be removed but still remain a "member" or alternatively, you can ask for all your details to be removed.
Be rather a shame tho unless you are giving up gardening for ever ?  Hope no one here has upset you ?
Best wishes whatever you decide to do  :)

Honestly know need to leave the Forum it is great you can learn plenty on here an no doubt you can share on knowledge.

But like so many Forums it is overtaken by a few people, who can post the same old dribble from 6 am in the morning, just another post to add to the same old crud they spill out on a daily basis. they do not have 50k of posts  for nothing,

Just add where you can with good advice and sound knowledge, not dribble posts.

I left but now I pick who I reply to and who genuinely
deserves my time and effort. I pretty discount all newbies as they pretty much never reply.

6 AM IS COMING WATCH FOR THOSE POSTERS.

I never knew retirement would be so busy.

@MrMow I think you need to bear in mind that this forum has been running for a number of years and therefore the amount of posts a member has "recorded" to their name may seem a lot to you but spread over time, is not particularly OTT.  Also consider the possibility that repeat advice/info comes down to posters asking the same or similar questions on a regular basis.  Whilst you may find the repetition boring and not worth your time, others are willing to help even if it means repeating themselves.
You may well have a point when you say that new posters often don't reply but enough of them do so it makes answering their query to the best of your ability worthwhile.
There's little point in answering a post simply because you expect to gain cheers and applause in return.
Sorry if this upsets you from someone who has used this forum for 10 years but I think your contributions would be taken more seriously if you avoided picking and sniping at others  :)
    A good post .

No problem with posts on the Forum but sometimes down to  the quality of them, people that have very little knowledge on the subject being asked but just waffle away for posting sake. you know the ones surely.

I enjoy the site and find it very useful as I love to learn, and enjoying my retirement planning our new garden, even tho I push a few peoples buttons but it won't bother me. I will give more than I get.

But the endless pointless posts on here are a joke, or that people will talk round you or have little digs. maybe that's what the op talks about and wants to leave but really wants to stay and be involved but it's a bit clicky on here.

Oh and I have no satisfaction in post counts or thumbs up, just share and post your knowledge and be helpful, and stop the dribble waffle posts and talking amongst yourself, the Forum is open to anyone ITS NOT YOUR SITE.

    Have a lovely weekend @ph@philippasmith2

It is not anybody's forum as far as I'm concerned. It is a collective of gardeners and folks interested in gardening that share knowledge and through that have become friends. Shame that offenders some folks

What are “dribble waffle” posts? Are you meaning the general chit chat posts? I think  it’s nice to share general bits and pieces, though I appreciate they’re not for everyone. But isn’t there a place for them as well as the posts asking for and giving garden advice? If those kind of posts are not your thing, pass them by.

I wonder if I'm part of the collective, maybe 😀 or maybe not 😞

I hope you reconsider @Winston_The_Gravity_Man, as you seem to have enjoyed being on the forum so far. If anyone hacks you off, use that ignore button, and if you feel they're being rude or offensive, you can also report them to the mods via the flag option, where there's a further option to report. It's why it's there.  :)
