You're right, @war garden 572, the UK has an ancient and venerable history of producing ridiculously enormous vegetables.
There's a bloke on t'allotments in Wrexham who's very good at it. The prices he says he's paid for some of his seeds make me gulp but it's his hobby so good luck to him. Can't see him splurging $195 on just one seed though.
Maybe it's not such a popular sport with the fairer sex is because they're not very good at it ?! (waiting for a low level nuclear explosion in reply )
