Tomato seeds have not germinated - can I do anything?

    Escapetothegarden next year I will do the same as I have done this year except I will keep the seed trays in a warm room in the house near a window , but not on a window cill and not do as many ---at the end of January  , 70 was way too many .

    The problem at that time of year is that there's not enough light - that's just as important for toms as warmth. Even mid to end of February is early unless you have the right conditions. I'd need a heated greenhouse for putting them into if I wanted to sow them that early.
    Mid to late March for me is plenty of time for getting them out into the growhouse- usually by this time of year, but they have to be big enough, and mine are too small this year as I had to redo them in April. 
    Around two months is about the time from sowing to getting them big enough to go outdoors or in a greenhouse depending on location/temps.   :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    I blame the compost you buy today. Our first sowing put their heads up then keeled over. Different compost. New sowing. All growing great now.
