@Plantminded Thankyou I thought they might prefer your lighter soil. Perhaps I  wiil have another go at growing in a pot.

..thank you.. much like yours I expect, loamy, sandy and free draining.. it's in full sun that one..  I find them useful for corners.. Yours look nice under the tree, adds a bright touch..

I find that quite odd re the soil.
It's one of the easiest plants to grow in my garden, and I've had it in other gardens too, with the same conditions.  :)

Ah, but you’ve got that magic touch @Fairygirl!
    Wirral. Sandy, free draining soil.

@Fairygirl I was suprised when you said how easy it is to grow. I love it and I think I am going to try and grow it again. Always so slow.

I do absolutely nothing to mine, except divide it when it needs it, or if I want a piece for somewhere else, so I don't think it's down to anything I do!  Give it another  shot @GardenerSuze :)
I gave a bit to my sister a couple of years ago for a shady bit she has. I must ask her how it's doing. She's in the east side of Scotland, so slightly drier than here, but it shouldn't matter.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
