Keter storage boxes?

Anyone use a Keter storage box like the one pictured?

I'm thinking of getting one for an out of sight area behind the garage to store 'stuff' like BBQ equipment etc. Are they decent quality?

I have 4 of the next size up, the Store it Out Max, they are quality items, but mine are a few years old now so not sure if anything has changed on that front.

Customer service is without doubt the best I have ever encountered, nothing is too much trouble and most of the time any spares needed are free.

I recently had 4 new lids sent out free of charge and all my units are years out of guarantee.

If you have the room go for the Store it Out Max as it is a much more sturdier unit and solid once bolted to the ground.

Just make sure you keep your receipt safe as you will need proof of purchase to order any spares that might be needed in the future.

    Thank you.
Pretty sure I saw a Youtube video of someone fitting a shelf inside, seem to recall the supports are there and any shelf just needs screwing to them?

Yes @LeadFarmer the supports are there at multiple levels.

I put in a cheap pine plank that does the job.

I don't have that one but I had a Keter bench with a storage chest at my old house and it was very good quality. I kept the garden cushions in it. It got forgotten when I moved house, wish it hadn't.

We have 2, brilliant. Sheps you would be ashamed of mine…. So much crammed in, I need your organisation.

I have the same one as Sheps. Can vouch for the quality. You really can get loads in it  and it is easy to clean. Had it for about 5 years and there have been no issues so far.

Sheps, your shelf must give you a lot more useable space.

Are they good at keeping rain water out, or does some manage to get in? Any condensation inside? I'm thinking of storing the lawn mower in one during summer, just don't want it to rust away if it gets damp inside.

@LeadFarmer yes, the shelf is handy and works for me.

As for rain, none gets in and everything stays dry which is good.

As for condensation, only 1 out of the 4 units suffers from it, which is quite strange as it's the one you wouldn't expect as it should have the driest atmosphere inside.

The latest versions have vents in the side panels, just like in your picture, I assume to help deal with any condensation issues.
  • My neighbour has something similar  - but I suspect it is simply that! It's a smaller item, black plastic, with a lid that flips up when the wind blows in certain directions.
