That looks foxy to me but it isn't necessarily the same beast as last time.

It still looks like a Pine Marten to me, head shape and tail all look good.

Legs look too short for fox in my opinion, though I have been spectacularly wrong before.

head and throat look Pine Marten to me, although I haven't seen one for a few years.

@CatDouch I'm not very happy with one of my hedgehogs at the moment. He was a complete AH to one who's been fervently building a nest in one of my houses for the last week. The other house is vacant, go f*****g sleep in there 😠

Hi @februarysgirl at this time of year male hedgehogs are full of testosterone and are either being aggressive to other males or attempting to mate with females.  I saw 2 males fighting the other evening on my wildlife camera and it was very noisy and aggressive but that’s nature I suppose!

Thanks everyone for your comments about our visitor.  I wish he'd visit when it wasn't dark so we'd get a better picture...

I think that's a pine marten too. Fantastic if it is @Liriodendron, especially if they're rare over there.  :)
It's like the KitKat pandas though - he'll wait until you're out, then he'll be all over the garden and looking in the windows, and disappear as soon as you come back up the drive...  ;)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

It's a puzzle @Liriodendron.   Short little legs but a pointy nose and bushy tail.  The white throat could be either.

Have a look at this video from a feeding station in Scotland - makes me think yours is a pine marten - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0m9zo_vOZY

     :D  @Fairygirl ...

They are rare if you take Ireland as a whole, but as in Scotland, there are pockets where they're much more common.  The lady who supplies our free-range eggs, at a farm about half a mile from here, had to give up last year because a pine marten was predating her chickens.  I think she's now got a bullet-proof run for them because she's back selling eggs.

I'm not sure what a pine marten would be looking for in this garden - though I understand rats are a favourite food...   :)
