I'm surprised you found Supermarket carrots so tasty, I think they're tasteless in comparison!
I added three in an Irish stew cooked for several hours in a slow cooker, so they were really mush when we ate them. But they did look crunchy and juicy when I was peeling them. Eating them raw would probably be another matter
