It's a Lawn - or is it?

After a brief discussion in "Reasons to be Cheerful", (thank you @B3 ) I wonder whether any of you good people can come up with a suitable word, or phrase, to call what so many of us term "a lawn", but really, the grass content is significantly limited.

The terms GREEN and WEEDSWARD have been suggested.

What do you call yours? Or what SHOULD you call it?

Mine is just known as 'the kids play area'. It's very much daisies, buttercups and various other weeds with a bit of grass somewhere in there. But it's green (ish) and serves its purpose.

If it's only an average size "lawn" - Fieldling or Fieldlet may suit ?
  • The bees dinner table.

Always my response to anyone who asks why the grass isn't cut x

I used to have a "patch" but I have turfed recently  :)

Some areas were grassy (lush grass) but most of it was either mossy, or glossy (shiny surface where nothing grew) or too fussy (no amount of care or grass seeds would take).
I wish I could garden all year round!
