@Kitty52 no worries...hopefully they will stock a few.

The new design looks good as you can split them with 2 plants in each, so good for fitting into smaller spaces.

Expensive but I’ve read good reports on them and I’m not good at watering consistently so hope will help.

I don't like the new design. To split them into two lots, you'd need something to block up the hole that connects them. Such a thing might be available. (Could someone let me know if so?) The thing that worried me most about them going bust was the filters. I managed to destroy one last year. I found a supplier and have bought a load. Without these, or a means to bung up the connecting hole, the 4 sets I bought would be useless...
Re making your own, I have done this. Not the neatest of efforts but they worked. I used under bed Ikea storage boxes with wooden blocks cut to size to support the lid thorugh which I drilled large holes. However these are not meant for outside use, and eventually disintegrated which is very not good for the garden and environment. I have also made individual ones from thos large fat ball lidded bins. Can get a bit top heavy though.

This chap promises to share his idea (plus he lists suppliers for GS spare parts).

@Kitty52 Quadgrows are very good, although I think they never quite perfected the design. I have been using them for years.

    Bungs available @REMF33

But that delivery price, I'd just stick some heavy duty tape over the holes like I have on my Mk1 Quadgrows.

Ok might buy some as back ups. Thanks! I did order a shed load of filters though!

edit: that said are they for the connecting hole or for the hole for the watering kit? It says 'lower hole'! I guess that's the connecting one... As you say that's expensive postage if I just wanted to buy one set to see if they work.

I got a bung for them when I ordered them. Because I’ve kept them as ‘twos I couldn’t seem to connect the filter so haven’t used it. Will it make any difference if I’ve left it out??

Following the above if you split them into two can someone tell me how you would fit the filters?  Although don't think I could take them apart now.
