Trees and Grass

So I am going to be planting a tree in the garden and will be therefore cutting a large hole out of the turf. Once it is planted and back-filled, so for example lets say the circular area without grass ends up about 60 or 70cm wide, should I add some of the turf back around it? I know it wil naturally grow back a bit, but…

Thanks for all the great advice. As mentioned above, I have a plan of action now, it might not be exactly the same as some peoples approach, but it will do for me. Thanks all.
