Thanks @Fairygirl that's a great point about turning them, it's the one thing I haven't done, so will start doing that.

The clumped ones are doing ok, not growing as fast or as big but still fine and I guess they'll catch up.

I'll be clumping the rest when I plant them into pots.

Once clumped, will they grow outside in the raised beds like this and do ok?

    That's a grand wee pot there  :)
They should be fine in your beds - yes. My raised beds are mainly ornamental, but I occasionally shove a lettuce in - especially the red ones, as they're also very ornamental.
I grow most of mine in containers though - it's just easier with the amount of slugs we have. The trough raised up and in a tray of water worked really well last year, so I'll do that again this year   :)

Brilliant @Fairygirl I've just planted 4 more clumps into pots and I'll grow on the spares 👍

Thanks very much for the help 🙂

I look forward to your updates @Sheps. It's nice when someone tries something new and gets a good result.
There'll be no stopping you now  ;)

Thanks @Fairygirl without the help and advice from you and @scroggin and everyone else the results might not have been as good 👍

@Sheps, agree with everything @Fairygirl has advised, your plants look really well. So glad your enjoying growing from seed, it becomes addictive 😊

    Very kind of you @Sheps.
I've had a lot of help over the years with all sorts of stuff, and seed sowing can be a tricky thing, so I'm glad you've found it useful.   :)

It can indeed @scroggin. I succumbed this year and bought some dahlias and a couple of other things to grow from seed. Absolutely no idea where they're all going to go... :s

Moved some of the lettuce from the cells to larger pots and watered from below.

Will do the rest tomorrow and grow them on until planting out.

They have developed a healthy root system in the CD trays, so will hopefully become strong plants.

Fab @Sheps - you must be delighted with those.  :)

Mine are, at last, starting to grow a bit now. They're at about the size yours were when you were first trying to move them on at the end of March.... ;)
