Blush noisette Desdemona - still in its 2nd flush. Around 3 weeks this time. Gertrude Jekyll too. It's a wonderful life English Miss Summer song Timeless Charisma - love these shapely cut flowers. A new addition from TCL from April - Eeuwige Passie; looks like this was one of the last bareroots, it has struggled to grow. A mild fruity scent.
Oxford. The City of Dreaming Spires.
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth
Please help. I have blackspot and cannot seem to get rid of it. I've tried a organic spray. New growth on the roses is coming with blackspot. My D.A. rose DANNAHUE is fine.
Welcome to the thread. Is that your Dannahue, @zakzak? It's really pretty. It's been a tough year for fungal disease for lots of us it seems.
Virginia McKenna from Harkness... one of the few without an unhealthy leaf on it. Vanessa Bell from DA is quite similar but doesn't have the gorgeous scent. It's so pretty though. Arthur Bell doing Arthur Bell things (healthy, blooming a lot, fragrant) A hand-me-down Susie from Harkness HQ originally Liliana from Trevor White Jubilee Celebration from DA... so droopy. Liisa from Trevor White.. this hasn't had very many blooms in its first year but they have all been a remarkable colour. Happy Couple from Styles. Thanks again to @JessicaS for highlighting this one. It's adorable.
@Eustace, I love that English Miss.💓 @Tack stunning pics!
Double delight in the pot. This is double delight flowers at their best. Chandos beauty standard bought this week, the buds are ready to open up. I'm looking forward to smelling the fragrance for the first time.
I’m recently back from the UK, including a visit to Dunham Massey rose garden which was enjoyable for sniffing roses but it was blackspot central and nothing really worth photographing. OH and I agreed, best DA fragrance was on Sweet Juliet, followed by The Poet’s Wife. OH was very taken with The Herbalist.
Most of the old roses were well over apart from Rose de Rescht - mine in a pot is very compact so I was a bit taken aback to see it a good 5x5ft in the ground. Strong and addictive as ever to my nose but OH said it smelt of nothing.
It’s nudging 38c here at the tail end of another big heatwave. The roses were just on the cusp of what promised to be a really good flush, but I returned to a brown and crispy world, all those promising rosebuds fried off. Due to plunge to 20c tomorrow so the yo-yo weather continues to test my rose growing resolve at Nollie Manor!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.

'Bring Me Sunshine' has the richest of colour that I don't think I've seen in a rose before, of this type .. pity it soon washes out.
Aster 'Monch' for contrast..
