@LunarSea There is only one place in my garden that this grass grows well. The border is south facing and sheltered. Elsewhere it doesn't seem to get a season long enough for it to flower.

Mine flowered last year, but late on as you suggest. I was wondering about its position on the patio which only gets sun from midday onwards but I was more than happy with it's progress there. Our variety is 'Prairie Sky'.

Hello @LunarSea, I've just had a look at the Panicums in my borders.  Three P. Northwinds at the front of the house, in an exposed site in dry soil have yet to show any sign of green shoots, three other P. Northwinds in the back garden, in a sheltered sunny border which I also water in summer, are just about showing signs of green shoots and the last one, Panicum Skyracer in a border with moister soil and a bit more shade has lived up to its name with shoots about six inches tall.  The three Panicums at the front of the house did not flower last year, due to the heat and drought, whilst the others did.  I think rate of progress must be a combination of location and moisture levels.  Panicums are always the last grasses in my garden to emerge from their end of Winter cut back.  I'd wait a couple more weeks before panicking about your Panicum!

Thanks @Plantminded. I'll find something else to fret about for a while then  :D

@LunarSea My Panicums are all showing sighs of growth at the base.

@GardenerSuze that's good. I checked mine yesterday and couldn't see anything but there's plenty of time yet.

Mine was planted last spring in my new bed.

    This is it today.

It’s in my north facing back garden but gets full sun. It’s sheltered by a huge hedge and a few evergreens.

@TheGreenMan I grow six different Miscanthus and they are all doing well here in the Midlands.

@LunarSea I live not far from you, but higher up and so far can see no sign of life on my Miscanthus. It was fine last year though and is in a relatively sheltered position and I am sure it will show in due course. We are only now  just beginning to get tiny leaves on the trees and the Miscanthus is never one of the front runners :)

My various cultivars of Miscanthus are now all showing growth.
Pennisetum Hamelyn is also showing new growth, so dead foliage has been removed.
Molinia Edith Dudzus is sprouting from the base.
Various other grasses are all showing signs of life.

I did however lose quite a lot of Anamenthale lessoniana.
