We had a dog with an unusual but appropriate name - sort of. She was very popular locally. I'm order to safeguard my anonymity, I will not disclose her name - you never know who gets on this site😳
We rehomed 2 barmy springer spaniels . One was calledDick but my husband is Richard so we changed it to Mick which he took to ( the dog not my husband ) .The other was called Lester which we tried to change to Buster but he wouldn’t have it . They lived to be 18 years old and I miss them so much . Wish we still had them ,it might keep next doors 4 cats from spraying in my garden !
Have you tried oranges, satsumas, etc? I have been using them to try to distract slugs... no improvement there, but it does seem to stop the cat next door from stinking up the garden.
My dog has the most boring and typical border collie name, but it was chosen by my daughter who didn't know that.🤷🏻♀️
Some names from a local dog walking group. Bengy, Cooper, Daisy May, Robbie, Luna, Dexter, Molly, Lady, Bailey, 3 of them. My previous two dogs were Sally and Meg.
My collie cross is Jess. Because sheepdogs should have single syllable names (according to the Scot who I was with at the time. And that was the name of my first Horse. It did cause some amusement when I had a lodger called Jessica, Or Jess. Then we had hairy Jess and Human Jess.
When my uncle passed away, without leaving a will, we had to decide what to do with his small pot of savings. After consulting the rest of the family we sponsored a Guide Dog puppy, luckily that years names began with H which matched nicely with my uncles surname, Hudson. A fitting tribute to a lovely man who was never without a dog.

There also used to be a weimaraner locally called Tarquin.
