Choosing dog names.

A show dog's name should include your kennel name.  It should also be completely obscure.  Like racehorses.

With a litter, it is common to start each litter with a different letter of the alphabet.

With hounds, it is tradiitional that the name has two syllables and be distinctive, pronounceable clearly so that each dog can recognise its name from the rest of the pack.   eg Rufus.

Eh, what? Are you taking the mickey out of this morning's spammer? Not worth it, they don't come back unless it's to post more rubbish.

There was a spam post this morning about choosing baby names, followed by a link to I know not what. It disappeared pretty quickly (5 spam flags and they're gone).

My hound is called Cody, his full racing name was Swift Cody. His breeder uses the 'Swift XXX' format for all his dogs.

C0-DEE, yes an excellent hound name.  Though I was thinking of pack hounds, scent hounds.

But you're not peeping at my post are you?

My friend adopted a cat that had previously been given a racist name. My poor friend.

DOG would fit the bill wouldn't it ?  That's what I called mine and even my neighbours in France found the name easy to pronounce :D

I found with cats or dogs, it isn't so much the name as the tone of voice. I experimented with Teapot and Agnes. Both sounded completely different to my pets' names but worked perfectly well .
