I would like to see more of Tayshan Hayden-Smith on Gardeners World. His visit to Somerset and the inspiring and charismatic young woman he spoke to clearly understood children and gardening. She was a very special person who's interest and garden knowledge is an inspiration to both children and adults.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
He’s a very talented young gardener, I’ve seen some of his work on tv gardening programmes. Nice to see him again last night, and wasn’t it a lovely clip, engaging young children in the pleasures and rewards of gardening? Super.
"With autumn just around the corner, Adam Frost takes stock of his garden and plans ahead for some late-season interest under the supervision of Ash the cat.
Frances Tophill visits a garden in Kent where the plants provide a non-stop buffet for insects, while Nick Bailey travels to Cornwall to revel in the glory of hardy palms.
There's a chef-turned-gardener who loves to grow all manner of unusual tasty crops. And there’s a visit to a sloping garden in Swansea for some top design tips.
Plus more of the amazing films that have been sent in by viewers."
Adam was the main presenter. I've just watched it. I thought I liked Adam but I'm going off him because of his weird way of talking. He pauses in the middle of sentences in a funny way. I almost lose the thread of what he's saying.
The colour wall was very colourful but it made me think about how long it takes to water all those baskets and how much water it must take. Here, in SW France, there is a big shortage of water and some places are banned from watering at all.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
We said much the same as you @Busy-Lizzie when we saw that flower wall, couldn't imagine the time and amounts of water needed to water them all. And then having to dead head them all, then empty the pots( if annuals) and starting all over again next year. Well done to the chap who owned them but I need something a little simpler to maintain🤭 I thought there was something wrong with AF on that programme with the way he was delivering information. It wasn't his usual way of speaking ( to my ears anyway) and sounded a bit off/ unusual , not him at all.
It's interesting that you both remarked on Adam's presentation @Busy-Lizzie and @Songbird-2. I thought it was just me. He didn't seem to have his usual enthusiasm, but we all have our off days l suppose. Must admit that l didn't engage with the programme in general, compared to the last few weeks.
" Monty Don plants bulbs in pots, including hyacinths and daffodils. He shares tips and advice on what to do when apples and pears have been affected by diseases such as canker and brown rot, and he also gives a timely guide on how to collect and save seeds.
Toby Buckland discovers an eco home in Rye which has been cleverly designed to incorporate a unique garden, with wildlife in mind.
Rachel de Thame finds late summer inspiration and a surprising style of planting in the borders of a garden in Berkshire.
We meet a singer-songwriter who gains inspiration from her garden sanctuary, an immersive space full of colour, texture, and form, and we visit a gardener who has created an exotic and tropical paradise in his Yorkshire garden. We also share more of the films that have been sent in by our viewers."
