Geranium Rozanne

Anyone able to recommend an online nursery that can supply Rozanne please?

I see Tompson & Morgan sell it as plug plants, but are there any other suppliers?
I hear it's expensive as it's difficult to grow from being divided, and is sterile?

I’ve never had any difficulty in growing more G. Rozanne from divisions.  I bought one and within 2or 3 years I’d more than enough and was giving plants away.

Woottens is a reputable online supplier … they may say ‘out of stock’ at the moment but that’s likely to be because of the time of year. They die right back in the winter. I expect they’ll have plenty available when they start into growth.

Its a common plant and as such all our local GC's stock it. I'm fairly sure if you wait a couple of months you'll find it for sale in your local GC. Personally nice would avoid thompson and Morgan, I've had very bad experiences with their plug plants on more than one occasion.

It's expensive because it has a lot of hype around it so lots of people want it. It is sterile, it doesn't seed itself, but it grows like topsy when it's happy and is easy as anything to divide - I moved one a few years ago and am still digging up the ones that grow from little bits of root that I didn't get out. Get it from a garden centre in the spring - any half decent one will have it and you'll know what you're getting. If you lived near me, you could have dozens

Always use Plantsman’s Preference for our Geraniums.  Great selection and good quality plants.

I highly recommend these people from personal experience. Another advantage is that you can select the week for delivery.

I want to move my Rozanne, but unsure as to when would be best, now when they are dormant or later when it's warmer and they've started to sprout?

I’ve split them when the soil has begun to warm up and they’ve started into growth, and also mid season when I cut them back, split, plant, give them a good drink and (in most summers) I just leave them to get on with it. Both methods have each been as successful as the other. 😊

I think taking a spade to Rozanne and carving it up should be more than OK. It seems very vigorous and survived everything my dog did to it last summer lol

Ballyrobert or Brookside as Anni said both sell and post immaculate plants! Couldn't recommend them enough.

They're very commonly available, you shouldn't have any problem sourcing online or at GCs. It is hard to divide when it is small IMO, as it has fleshy rather than fibrous roots. When it is big enough you can pull separate roots apart from each other, each with their own crowns, to make new plants.

I'll have to keep my eye out at the garden centres, I have looked for it before and not found it, but I'll also have a look at the websites mentioned, thank you.

I have quite a lot of Johnsons Blue geranium which I divide most years, and I know Rozanne is similar looking but it's also a favourite of the bees, which is what I want it for.
