    They don’t just stay on the coast … they can be found on fields all over Norfolk and Suffolk, probing in the soil with their beaks for worms and other invertebrates. 😊 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    We get them here and we're a half hour drive from the nearest coast.  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    That's my all time favourite bird,I loved the sound of them flying up and down Kinlochleven,when I lived in Scotland.
    They are here in Wales too,we see them along the Pembrokeshire coast.
    The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.

    We get them here on farm land in Nottinghamshire and i’v only ever seen them in pairs. Great birds 😀.

    I recently rescued one from the tide line after it had been attacked by someone's dog. It's plumage had become saturated in the surf and it couldn't fly. Nothing broken but I had to find it somewhere it could lie up for a while and dry out without getting attacked again.

    I love to walk along the River Tees and often see - and hear them - while enjoying my walks. Their peep peep call is very distinctive, usually as they fly away after you have disturbed them lol.  :D
