  • @rossdriscoll13 I will see how it works, but thanks for the tip. I saved a link for strulch in my bookmarks.

  • I found the correct name of the Delphinium in question in case somebody wants to try it: Delphinium Magic Fountain Pure White

I had a second one, the snow white but this never developed.

    I my garden.

I’m glad that I know that and how to type your name @bédé

That's considerate Simone.  It's not the absence of accents that I object to, but the addition of "@" to my name and the red type.  So ...   well, social media-ish.

    Back to delphiniums.
I believe that the "Magic Fountain" series is a seed strain, probably derived from the "Paciific Giants" series.  Suttons sell the seeds and possibly plants as well.

  • Thanks @bédé

I believe to remember what happened to our Eremurus last year. In February 2021, we bought Giant Allium plants and while digging I cut off a root. Oh dear, I don’t hope I had cut off the flower root.

    I my garden.

@bédé you may not be aware that the @ and the red font have a function ... they are what turns your name into a 'tag' to alert you to a question or a point someone feels you may have specialist knowledge of ... or if someone wants to address you directly ... however if you haven't got these enabled in your settings they you won't be receiving the alerts and are possibly totally oblivious as to how they work.

I was totally oblivious.  I am still oblivious, just not now totally.

I hope you found the explanation helpful ... perhaps now that you know there is a purpose you'll find it less irritating.  :)

If you wish to receive the alerts and are not sure how to alter your Settings, just ask.  :)

@bede Also took me a while to realise, if you go to notifications top right you should see this and past messages from other forum members? Just noticed no accents on the 'e's so not sure if it will work the lettering has changed colour which indicates it is correct?

Gorgeous pics @Simone_in_Wiltshire - fingers crossed your delphiniums come through stronger later on and that the horrid little slugs haven't finished them off.  Mine are showing no signs of growth yet, but they came through again all right last year.  I'm on sand so the little blighters confine themselves to skulking around my pots.

Dove and Suze, thanks for your input.  I had a quick look at "notifications".  I think I can live without this service.
