The white Eremurus and Delphinium together is classic.

But looking at your other pics: perhaps your Delphinium comes into growth a bit to early.  Maybe consider a later white variety, there are many cultivars.  Obviously don't dump the original, but don't change the E-D duo.

I too was fooled by "Aconites" .  At thiis time of the year i think first of winter aconites.
location: Surrey Hills, England, ex-woodland acidic sand.

You're right @Perki- we were meaning the tall Aconitums as in Monkshood etc, rather than the little yellow winter aconite, but Aconite is also the name for Aconitum  :)
There's a house not far from me which has a little border along the pavement edge  - full of winter aconites. It's a cheery site.
I like Eremerus but haven't grown them here. I had them in a previous garden, but they didn't have the best site. Perhaps I should  try them again @Perki  ;)

Thanks all for the kind words.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Not taking anyone's side but a handy hint for getting accents etc on a smartphone (android, not sure about Apple) - just hold down the required letter and a list of that letter with different symbols will appear: à á â ã ä (I'm on a smartphone to confirm!).

    I don't have a smartphone, just a laptop  :)

I have two delphiniums ( one purple and one white) which I took out of the ground last year due to the heat. They wilted fast daily and needed a lot of watering. I potted them both up, in separate pots and put them in a shadier part of the garden. They both grew wonderfully well and we had a lovely second flowering from them. I have left them there all autumn and winter with no covering. One is still dormant whilst the other is showing signs of new green growth. The pots on sitting on an upside down wooden planter. They don't appear to have been attacked by slugs since potting them up and putting them up high. Think I'll leave them there this year and see what happens. Fingers crossed the slugs keep away.
  • You are a genius @Crazybeelady 😀
Never tried it as I normally don’t type on my phone, and definitely not French/German characters.

    I my garden.

I post 50/50 on my iPhone and my laptop (not apple). It’s probably simpler to get an accented letter on the iPhone than on the laptop

Didn’t know that but I’m glad that I know that and how to type your name @bédé

    I my garden.

  • @Simone_in_Wiltshire to help deter slugs and snails from eating your delphiniums try using Strulch.
