  • 1)  Plum?
    2)  Kilmarnock willow
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

  • Have turned pics.
    1. Prunus ....Cherry maybe ..looking at lenticels on the bark

    2. Salix caprea Kilmarnock...common name Kilmarnock willow.
Grafted/ Top heavy. Roots not always strong enough..inclined to lean/fall over.

Up here virtually every house has one ..planted by the builders.
They can be so very ugly.

    My favourite...I have many favourites!

    Dreadful small tree!
It is grafted and often gets top heavy so that it leans/topples over.

@JAYJARDIN, your Kilmarnock willow is already encroaching over the grass, and having seen the photos above, you may wish to consider either moving it or replacing it altogether with something less likely to become a problem.
  • @Silver surfer A masterclass in Kilmarnock willow!

You should see some of the ones round here. SO bad.... :D
I really ought to take the camera when I go out.  ;)
The sad thing is that many of them are planted as a 'specimen' in front gardens. They're certainly that!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

You guys would love "les faux de Verzy" (self-seeded weeping beech). Montagne de Reims, Champagne.

Best in the autumn, as is the local wine.  Their fizzy stuff is almost as good as that made in England.  But with more history and culture behind it.

Unfortunately all my pics are on 35mm transparencies that I can't access using my current technology.

But ... google came to my aid:

I'll try and find some pics that come bigger.
