I were going to start a new thread but I'll put it on here. I've lifted my pennisetum rubrum today thought I'd save the the flower/seed heads in the house but I am unsure if I need to put water in the vase or not (pint glass in my case )

I chose them for the lovely orange colour. They did really well in containers.
I am looking forward to growing some orange ones.

If you ladies want a smaller orange daisy that flowers a bit earlier in the season I can definitely recommend Ursinia anethoides.

Sorry to hijack your thread @Plantminded :)

They look really good @Perki, they’ve already drunk your beer 🍺!  Personally, I’d leave them dry, otherwise the stems may rot but the flowers will eventually shed.

Don’t worry @LunarSea, it’s here for all to share!  That's a great orange daisy!

I agree with @Plantminded lovely to see something different. Grasses are beautiful but even more so when planted with beautiful flowers.

Thanks I were thinking of letting them dry as well .
  • Thank you @LunarSea they look lovely. I will add them to my ever growing list of possibles for next year. Are they easy from seed?

Hi @Plantminded I have really enjoyed this thread. I am pleased to say you gave me a good idea. The photo that I posted earlier  is now a piece of wall art 30x 20 inches. You gave me the incentive to go out and photograph my Miscanthus Kliene Fontane.  Then I decided on Monday that I would like it framed and luck would have it half price on an on line site. Arrived this morning and I am very pleased. Will be a lovely garden memory as we hope to move next year.
There are so many stunning gardening photos on this forum that would make great unique wall art and I am sure many forum members have done the same.
