That is the reason for my request, @Fairygirl. I have seen the abuse that you have received, but the set up of the forum means you cannot ignore it, and we have to go through the laborious process of getting comments removed.
I do however agree, that the photograph issue, is a bigger problem.

Last time l looked, it was (just about) a free country. If people wish to have a private profile for whatever reason, then as far as l'm concerned it's up to them.

There have been occasions when l've gone to look at someone's profile and it's private, which l can understand can be extremely frustrating .
Are they troublemakers, worried about site security, worried about stalkers, or maybe stalkers themselves ?  Usually a look at the post which caught my attention can give me a clue.

This forum is generally speaking "self policing".  If someone upsets you for whatever reason, you can ignore them. Oh for such an option in real life.

Normally l would advise contacting the mods if someone has upset you for some reason, ask them to look into the situation and take any action they deem necessary, but I'm wondering if Daniel Haynes is even around.
l sent a PM to him back in August as l'm having problems with my notifications and had no response. I assume there are other mods who look at his messages.
The photos glitch is a PITA.
The only way l can see of looking at just the threads you are interested in is to bookmark them and go straight to "Bookmarks".

This forum (cliche alert !) is a big family.

People you agree with, people you don't, people you can't stand the "sight" of, people whose energy, creativity ,and strength in the face of adversity you admire.
There are situations where it can turn very vicious and situations where your faith in human nature is restored.
Personally l wouldn't be without it.

And now l'm going to make a cup of tea.

@Fairygirl I see your point and agree that there should be an ignore button. I'd have thought it was perfectly possible within the forum software to give that option whilst retaining the private profile for members who choose that.
Having said that we don't have to put any info about ourselves into the profile anyway.
It could be that some members don't want to receive PM's but there might be an option for that in notifications. I dunno to be honest.
Might be something to do on a dreary day, investigate options.

I've just checked my profile and discovered that it was private :o. I don't recall setting it that way, so maybe it was the default. I've changed it now - there's nothing in there that I want to hide. I have occasionally received PMs so being private wasn't stopping that.

I switched off the email notification thing. I don't really need it.

Do you mean the email thingy or the PM thingy B3? Just to complicate things like.
