Lol I get similar comments from my daughter who lives in Edinburgh 😁
and Edinburgh's on the dry side of the country!  :D
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I wish the squirrels would dig up my bluebells! I doubt their arms ( do they have arms?) are long enough😒
I am training mine to differentiate betweem native and Spanish.  I also have a few, very few, hybrids.  But on reflection, if we get a continuation of global warming, we may come to like heat-tolerate Spanish bluebells.

  • We have noted   that Alliums are up already and some Fresias have re-sprouted.  Lots of other things are out of season.
Just to wind up @Fairygirl some more we have had lunch out on the patio and sat out with our morning coffee several times in the last week.  Just to make up for it tho we have just had "Holywood " rain (you know just like in singing in the rain film courtesy of the fire department) 😜

    I knew there was a reason I didn't like you @Allotment Boy.... :D
It was 'supposed' to be dry and even with a little sun here, and with the winds, I thought 'I'll do those bedclothes and stick them out before I go for my walk then'
They're currently being re spun.... :|
My fave film and it was on the other day. No idea how many times I've seen it and it's always a joy.   :)

Can you grow freesias where you are - outside through winter @Allotment Boy, or do you lift and overwinter them?

  • Now there is no need to be spiteful @Fairygirl I was only joshing we have just had the most almighty claps of thunder and even more torrential rain. I know it's you, you've waved that wand and sent it down here haven't you- own up  >:)

Yes we can grow freesias here but they are in a big pot, so if it ever turns cold again they can go in the greenhouse.

You caught me red handed with my wand. It's good to share though...  :D

Interesting about the freesias. Not something I've ever tried, and they'd need to be in the house from now, or earlier, but I could be tempted. Might even be able to smell the scent!

Glad I've read this thread @a@"Allotment Boy" as we bought some in flower this year and their pot is still outside! I'll put it in the greenhouse tomorrow now after seeing this. ( It's cold here now...North East). Thanks!
