    I agree - leaves much too big for Field acer.
    There are lots of field acers around here and all have the buttery yellow leaves - no hint of red in them even when they've dropped

    Acer campestre, field maple-

    Looks like ours is not a field maple after all. It definitely goes red, looks more like the red sycamore in the picture. If I can bring myself to head outside later, I’ll collect some leaves.

    Please get a clear pic, on a neutral back ground  and add scale as Pete  8 did earlier with his  excellent field maple pic.

    I'm thinking along the lines of Acer platanoides. I have one in my garden and I'll go out and get a leaf when the rain stops.

  • Norway maple Acer platanoides do go a fab colour.
    This is Acer platanoides Princeton Gold taken yesterday.

    @Sam76 leaf looks like the ones I posted so I'm going for A. platanoides.
