Rowan tree grown leggy

    Maybe I'm too spoilt, I have both.  What I call Mountain Ash come up like weeds.  I select the ones I want tp keep.

    " Green blob" is not how I describe camelias.  I see them as everygreen 12month structure for the garden.  The leaves are dark and glossy.  Debbie is not my favourite flower colour, but the flowers last fro months.  Others I have last from late December to early June, and recover afier a frost.

    My camellias provide plenty of food for wildlife.  In spring they are crowded with aphids, herded by ants.  And have a rich diversity of scale insects.  Lady birds are there too, eating something.

    Camellias are beautiful plants ,shiny leaves all year round and beautiful flowers that last for weeks ……….green blob indeed ! I think not

    The rowan is native. Generally natives or near natives are considered better for wildlife.
