@Rojas - thanks I asked about that. I have two on the way amongst other Kordes roses. Your Dark Desire looks lovely - great blooms. Do you get a lot of blooms in the first flush? My established Lions Fairytale for example I get well over 100. I guess 3 years isn’t fully established though.
@Fire please can you explain how you rotate images that insert themselves in the wrong orientation? Thanks
@Alfie_ There is a very long standing glitch in the image loading system. The easiest way to fix it is to slightly crop your picture before loading (take off some of sides of the image). You have to do this on your own photo/computer; the forum software can't do this for you. This re-editing of the image will make it load straight.
Yes there’s two paddocks owned by our next door neighbour who keeps horses. At the bottom of the far hedges is the River Aire and beyond the Leeds to Liverpool canal. I sometimes have to pinch myself that we found the property. It really is a blissful place to live. Neighbours are great.
@owd potter Munstead Wood, along with some other David Austin Roses are floppy in their first year. The growth gets stronger over time and also with the correct pruning. If you don’t like the floppy growth you can give it some support using either bamboo canes or prunings from trees. @Fire Roses take a few years to get fully established. So you need to give them longer than a year before moving them. Patience is a virtue.
Fabulous parade of roses still, this mild weather is a great bonus.
They don’t look great it must be said @WhereAreMySecateurs buy I’ve had equally bad. Tiny, stunted specimens from PB came back from the dead but they did take a couple of years to catch up after being pot-nursed.
Munstead Wood was my slowest Austin to mature (4yrs) and finally crept up to a record 70cm high this year, whereas others only took 2 years, so it does vary.
The Prince bloomed reasonably well for me from the start @Rojas, but it arrived as a large, vigorous bare root from TCL, which helped. I do find the dark Austins need a lot of food and water to produce decent blooms tho, so I liquid feed them more than most. Your Dark Desire is looking fantastic.
TP today, with Marie Pavie starting a new flush:

And a pup-cident - found this WS2000 bloom on the floor neatly puppy pruned!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Thanks @rossdriscoll13, good to hear that it will improve in time. Once it's current flush is done, I will move it into the ground and give it some support next year. I'm sure I can come up with something. I'd be interested to hear any pruning tips you have.
@Rojas, sorry forgot to respond to your query about Wild Edric, as it’s a rugosa hybrid I think I would just let it develop in it’s own time. I’m sure someone has it, @Omori was it you and am I remembering correctly that it took a while to fill out?
