Wow, that’s impressive ice @purplerallim. Opposite here, mild and rainy, as a consequence my wet ground has been torn up with big wheel ruts and them dragging heavy metal suction pipes over it. Turns out my drainage field leaky pipes are totally blocked which is why the tank needed a second emptying this year. So even more disruption and expense to come - turns out the installers (now gone bust of course) used the wrong type of pipe when we had the new system installed 5 years ago 🙄

I see DA have released both 'Elizabeth' and 'Nye Bevan' to the U.S. market for Spring 2023... not Bring Me Sunshine though, so that will have to wait until the following year..

They must have brought 'Elizabeth' forward as 'Nye Bevan' on its own wouldn't be the most exciting introduction.

I spotted that on houz forum Marlorena, they don’t seem to have been greeted with much enthusiasm do they? Must admit, from a warmer climate perspective I agree with the initial comments.

I’ve noticed a problem with my LEH standard, one of the scions seems to have been budded directly on top of a thorn, which is itself detaching from the trunk and pushing it off. I will alert lens to see if they can offer me any advice to bind it back on somehow. If it fails it would be a real bummer since DA have banned them from budding any more:

Not sure what the trunk stock is, rather different to the mahogany coloured, thornless one of my other two..

..that's a shame @Nollie not so nice after all, rather an ugly cut there..  see what they have to say but if mine I think I'd just leave it all on to flower in Spring, then sometime during the season prune out that ugly bit back to the trunk and try to grow own root from them..

You might have to watch for suckers from that thorny interstem too..

Yes, I’m not so impressed now, Marlorena. I could cut the lower cane off next Spring as you suggest, but the top one is also detaching so I’m not sure it anything can be saved or not. Would be a very lopsided standard without it. I have emailed Lens and will let you know what they say. Perhaps there was a reason it was the last one in stock!

    That's a shame, @Nollie.

Perhaps they want to flog as many Elizabeth roses as possible before any more Netflix documentaries come out lol

Not a rose question but has anyone seen Fire ( forum member ) ? Normally seen her/him posting often on the forum and on this thread .

Does a david austin rose have to die to claim on warranty ? My Gabriel Oak has been very poor last year ( bought last year bareroot ) and mostly this year its just one stick more a less .
