The only stripey one I've had in recent years.. 'Commandant Beaurepaire'.. probably related to Ferdinand Picard, just this one grows tall and ungainly, or wide spreading shrub.. Delicious scent though..
Got a present from the offspring... £1 in a charity shop. I had to lend them the money, though.😁
It's nice and thick and glossy. Interesting, DA writing of "Leander" that it doesn't repeat well... I had been ogling that one from Trevor White. Do others who have it agree?
I'm glad your Lady of the Lake is in reasonable shape @Mr. Vine Eye I had feared a lot more damage.. going to look nice this year for you, and for us..
Hi all, just catching up on posts after a lovely sunny day at the coast 😎
Thanks @Marlorena re Marie Nabonnand. She has indeed been allocated the wall spot to warm herself against! It seemed the right decision instinctively and hopefully should look good there.
Yellows..
I featured Souvenir de Marcel Proust upthread already.
I got rid of Golden Beauty, it bloomed frequently, but I found the blooms rather dull and the bush a coarse and wickedly thorny beast. No scent either.
Julia Child is my best all-round performer, a super rose:
Golden Celebration, not hugely floriferous for me, spends too much energy putting out long octopus canes, gets blackspot, but it’s delicacy and fragrance make up for that:
Two recent and promising additions to the yellow club are Lady Hillingdon:
.. and Mrs. Oakley Fisher, her of the very large single blooms and sumptuous stamens:
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
I have sorted the huge order error with the nursery. My plants have been delayed, maybe the weather disruption. I did have weird dreams last night though
Having searched for photos of my favourite yellows I accidentally deleted a whole post. Can't face re searching for them and then editing so they load straight, I will rank the roses in order of how much pleasure they give me
I don’t have that many pictures of yellow roses. May be I don’t like yellow that much. I could not find pictures of Golden Celebration and Teasing Georgia Well being:
Interesting you rank Golden Beauty well above AbFab/Julia Child @Tack, given JC is my top yellow and I’ve shovel pruned GB! I know Marlorena rates GB highly too but, well, see my comments above. Horses for courses..
Glad you sorted out your order.

@Nollie Golden Beauty is thorny but it flowers better than AbFab for me and it's my only gold. AbFab is an excellent rose though, just doesn't make my heart sing.

Guy Savoy, tall, bushy, vigorous, healthy. Little scent, despite what TW says:
Well being:
Glad you sorted out your order.
