'Katharina Zeimet' is such a pretty little rose, I love it... even though it's probably wrongly named, but sounds a lot better than 'Schneewitchen' with which it's confused..

@newbie77 oh no! That will be you waiting til april then, unless march suddenly dries out (although I’m welcoming the rain as it’s been a dry winter here) I was always bemused when I bought a new plant in june thinking I could pop it in, and the ground was already rock hard 😆

@Tack that’s a lovely selection, the climber is really pretty, I’ll look forward to seeing photos of them all this year!

@Eustace Jacqueline du Pru is very pretty, I’m going to have to start a list…

Yes, so far I’ve found Delbard roses sturdy, vigorous growers @cooldoc, I suspect a good dose of HT in those they class as shrubs or floribundas. Dominique Loiseau is clearly a very different breeding line. Avalanche Abricot was only launched on the market last year, so that will be why there aren’t many reviews or photos of it yet. I really must join HMF!

@Eustace, do you have any bush shots of Royal Celebration? How is it’s overall size and habit? I’m trying to decide if I can slot it in on the north side of a bed, where it will get some shade from other roses around it. Thanks.

All gardening jobs have come to a halt here. I have got a new project at work too so very busy. In a way nature has given me extra couple of weeks of winter so I don't feel all left behind in gardening tasks.
Problem is April first two weeks are school holidays again  :o so it will be only after that I can do planting, mulching, feeding etc.

Great, thanks @Eustace. I was hoping it would be short/can be kept short with pruning so it sounds perfect for the spot I had in mind. It would get morning sun and some shade from surrounding roses there, but I don’t expect it to be purple here, a deep pink would be fine.

A million dreams looks good @edhelka, I like the dusky pink tones.

Yes Tack we will always be worrying about our children. And house purchase is not an easy process. My cousin is younger than me and looking to buy her first house and she asks me. Not to sure what to advice her. Is it right time, budget, interest rates so many things to consider.

RIP Frank. Those are some incredible roses he has left as a legacy. Forever Royal is one of my new bareroots and we will have a little toast 🥂 to the breeder's memory when it blooms.

Good luck to your kid, @Tack. Home ownership has its pros and cons for sure. I miss living in a flat and having only a couple of rooms to clean. But then... no garden... so a heated shed in a field perhaps would be my ideal I think!
