It was drier here than I could ever have imagined. Dry winter, dry Spring and months without a drop of rain in Summer. I have to choose plants that cope with waterlogging in winter - usually a much bigger problem than drought - and I'm too old to be carrying water downstairs from the bathtub, so I lost a good many plants. All the annuals, lots of perennials,  a couple of shrubs and, we fear, an elderly tree.
Oh well. You win some and you lose some.
  • As Monty said, we need a really wet winter.
    Best wishes,
    Mike.
