@Fire I have never had a post deleted then 2 within a few minutes, a further post with no criticism of Charles and Camilla remained on the thread. Draw your own conclusions, I have.

The conclusion I draw is glitch. We don't have moderators, let alone over-active ones.

I assume others found the post offensive and flagged it. I simply stated that Charles and Camilla had both committed adultery all through his marriage and I personally have no respect or liking for either of them. Just my own personal opinion. I feel that their behaviour contributed to the terrible unhappiness of his wife, and probably her husband. Not people to look up to unlike the dear Queen.
  • @debs64 only stating the truth, they did commit adultery.  He shouldn't have married Diana, but needed an heir.

  • @star gaze lily Agreed. Charles should have been allowed to marry Camilla in the first place and not been pressured into marrying a naïve 19 year old who was used like a brood mare. Had that been the case, Diana could have found someone who truly loved her and lived a long and happy life rather than the tragedy it became. They were both cheaters, the only difference being that Charles cheated with the woman who was and always will be the love of his life whilst Diana's affections were variable. A terrible situation which would never have occurred were it not for an antiquated notion of what a king's wife should be.

My OH's aunt lives near the Highgrove estate. She's met Charles and Camilla on a number of occasions and speaks highly of them both, Camilla especially.

Can you stand on a balcony and wave?
Can you wave from a car?
    Can you shake hands regally?
    Are you a white protestant?

The polite way is to answer is: One wonders what people think when they write such comments.
My honest answer is: I wouldn’t spend a second talking to you in a pub as this level is just a waste of my rare lifetime.

  • @Simone_in_Wiltshire Being protestant is a pre-requisite for the job because the monarch is the head of the Church of England. Autumn Phillips renounced her Catholicism before marrying Peter otherwise he would have lost his place in the line of succession. Given how far down the line he is, it seems a bit petty that he would have asked her to do such a thing. Fortunately, the law on marrying Catholics has now been changed but I'm certain a non protestant heir to the throne would still be a major issue.
  • @februarysgirl Time is changing, and what used to be may no longer be adequate.
The worst chapter in England's history happened when Henry VIII turned the Church to the Church of England. So much loss came with it. He wiped out so much knowledge.
