I took time off from my far from busy day (I’m cleaning the oven) to look up the price of bulk buy perlite. Don’t feel the need to thank me.

Thank you. I appreciate it. You gave me some helpful insight. I also thanked dove from above for his feedback which was also helpful. Some other people gave feedback too. Some others got a bit judgy. That is common behaviour on internet forums. I value the judgy comments less. Some people got offended on behalf of others. I guess that's because they don't like their ecosystem being disturbed, or ideas that are different to their own.

Hmmm … that would seem to be an aposite comment.

Dove from above, maybe you should clean your oven too.

I  find it odd, that posters, with  many decades of experience each are unanimous in their skepticism about pumice.
I've been gardening for almost 50 years, ran a gardening  / design business for 25 years and I've never heard anyone advocate it, nor seen any evidence to convince me to use it yet you're convinced you're right and everyone else is wrong.

The forum rarely answers the asked question straight. It's a function of the group. It usually concludes it's the wrong question and answers an entirely different question (as I did on this thread). This may be constructive and intended to be helpful but new arrivals can find it an odd habit. So now the OP knows that if they return (which I doubt) their questions will probably not be answered but may get other people's insight on something related.
