Help identifying this flower from Culzean Castle?

Dear Gardeners World forum members,

This is my first post! I'm a huge fan of Gardeners World from here in America. I was recently on vacation in Scotland, and went to the wonderful walled garden at Culzean Castle, where I gained an immense amount of inspiration for creating some very U.K. borders back home here in the Midwest. I particularly loved this flowering plant, but have had difficulty zeroing in on it precisely. Some of the plant identifying apps are telling me it's a Eupatorium/Joe Pye Weed, and some tell me it's Queen of the Prairie, Filipendula rubra 'Venusta', while yet another is telling me that it's an astilbe. But none of these seem to quite hit the mark, at least when I do an image search for all of them. Can someone possibly help me in identifying this plant, or help give me confirmation that one of those above is what it is.

Thanks in advance!

Have you got a picture with the leaves in it?
    Could be Rodgersia.

I think it could be Joe Pye Weed native to North America. How tall was it?

looks like Filipendula to me - very useful at the back of my borders.  Its a bit of a thug here though.  Although when I zoom in on the leaves in your picture, maybe punkdoc is right…..they don’t look divided enough

Eupatorium flowers are  more compact, rounder, flatter...see pics below.
    So either Rodgersia or Filipendula.
Pics showing leaves would clinch it.
    Perthshire. SCOTLAND .
  • I thought it looked like Rodgersia superba but hard to tell without leaves - https://www.bethchatto.co.uk/conditions/plants-for-damp-conditions/rodgersia-pinnata-superba.htm

I'd go for Rodgersia too.  There's part of a leaf visible just left of centre, at the bottom of the photo.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

That little bit of leaf might just be the clue. Maybe it was growing in a boggy part of the garden. There is the Culzean Palm which made me think a drier garden.
