Buddleia Buzz

Does anyone grow any of the Buddleia Buzz shrubs please?

    My daughter has one. Easy, healthy, loads of flowers. But it's  a BEAST. Don't be fooled by pictures of neat little shrubs in pots. It wants to take over the world.

    Thanks for replying. I.was hoping to grow it in an open position. Do you mean it self seeds like crazy?

    It hasn't self seeded in her garden. I mean it's a good 2 metres tall and wider than that.

    I am really coming round to thinking that plant nurseries, even reputable ones, are starting to describe things rather as estate agents were inclined to do.
    Highly fragrant, (smells like  toilet cleaner) drought-resistant (unless it doesn't get rain), good ground cover (warn the people in the next village.)
    Height 2ft x spread 2ft. Treble that!

    I planted a 2l pot of Buzz Ivory in March and most of it just died on me when the weather turned hot, despite watering. I've one straggling branch left and that's it. Not really sure what to do with it now, I thought Buddleias were supposed to be bomb proof!

    Oh, that's a shame! They are pretty bomb proof but even they need help this year. Did you give it lots of water?

    That’s weird… I have one growing out of my patio slabs, it’s become tall… and totally unaffected by the recent weather…

    Maybe the slabs help? Preventing water evaporation?

    It self seeded so maybe it’s one of those wild ones that grow on train lines etc and tough as old boots!

    I don’t like them appearance wise but the bees and butterflies visit them so it is tolerated 🙂

    @Posy It was doing great to start with and I increased the watering but it just reached a point where it was no longer responding to it and most of it just wilted and died 🤷‍♀️
