I don't like ear plugs , they never feel comfortable. I can however recommend Bose  noise cancelling headphones. I have the ones with the big over ear muffs. Brilliant.
  • I often use earplugs and earmuffs together, depending on the noise I am trying to block.

Most of the earplugs I have tried are uncomfortable as you say. The specific turquoise coloured pilot range from Howard Leight are the best I have tried. I have not been able to obtain anymore. The other orange coloured range of plugs by Howard Leight are very uncomfortable. They started to put a hard rigid material in the centre core of the plug-total rubbish.

These are the comfortable ones if you can get them.

I wouldn't say it's dusty, it's a factory, but no dust is actively produced.
I've always had it for as long as I can remember.

If my ears are bad and I put earplugs in, it pushes all the wax down and blocks. So I avoid those.
I suppose it is not always possible to know the amount of wax that has built up, until we feel the symptoms. In my case the hearing ability drops and a bit of pain.
I have one of those cheap cameras off Amazon to look in there. Does the job ok!
  • That is interesting.  Is it a camera that is specifically for that?
