Exterol  Eardrops or another decent one.

For quite a number of years I have used this brand. I am currently struggling to get it now. The good thing about Exterol was that on the odd  occasions it would allow the wax to come out without a syringe.

Can anyone recommend a good one to try? You can a brand  is good if it starts 'crackling' as soon as you put some in  the ear.

    Otex ear drops has the same ingredients.  5% urea hydrogen peroxide.

    I was watching an ENT doc on youtube and he did a comparison of various drops and Sodium Bicarb came out on top. Otex make one. He had blobs of wax to test and showed it disintegrating.

    I’ve always used plain warm olive oil.

    I thought ears were pretty much self cleaning if you left them alone.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

    I've used olive oil and most other branded ear drops. They all seem to soften, but I produce tons of wax they don't do enough.

    Mine certainly don't self clean enough.

    Even after a syringe at the docs, a week later I'm full.

    Now I just self syringe, as I can't go to the docs all the times, they also don't like doing it and ear wax vacuuming is £100 a time.

    Thanks for the recommendations for Otex, I will get some on Wednesday. My ears are ready for emptying.

    Do you operate in a dusty environment?

    In my  case I use earplugs quite a lot, and pushing them in pushes the wax down the ear canal. Otherwise mine would probably self-clean. 

     My hearing is very sensitive to levels of noise that most people would probably not be troubled by.  Hyperacusis. When a car with a loud exhaust, or an emergency vehicle passes with the sirens on I end up with ear pain.

    I wouldn't say it's dusty, it's a factory, but no dust is actively produced.
    I've always had it for as long as I can remember.

    If my ears are bad and I put earplugs in, it pushes all the wax down and blocks. So I avoid those.

    I suppose it is not always possible to know the amount of wax that has built up, until we feel the symptoms. In my case the hearing ability drops and a bit of pain.

    Am I the only one seeing adverts appear on here. See screen shot I have just taken. I don't recall seeing this sort of thing previously.
