Yes please @AnniD - gotta love straw bobs and cream - english summer in a dish. Just found some Pimms so I might pinch a couple to make a jug of Pimms & ginger ale - not quite as sweet as lemonade but you still get all the fruit salad stuff😄

Mint has disappeared in my parched garden - so if anybody has a couple of sprigs...

@AnniD Yes, I was talking out of experience 🤨 Interesting is that it really doesn’t matter how long this heat ist. A colleague of mine had a question mark in her face when I said I drunk a beer to get tired and avoiding panic. I remember days in Berlin with days with 39 degrees for 7 weeks and 33 degrees at night and I stood on my window (I lived in the yard) and there was no trace of a slightest breeze. I started panicking that I will die.
We had Monday the same here, 30 degrees inside and outside and no breeze.

The first day after such heat is like falling into a deep sadness that’s over as much as I hated these overheated weeks.

At least it has rained here for 2 hours 😀

    I my garden.

Oh dear @Songbird-1 … can you reach it with a squirt of water from your hosepipe?  💦 😉

Such lovely sentiments on this forum. Definitely the place to come when one needs a cheering up or a bit of sympathy, plus all the useful gardening advice!
Hope you’ll wake up tomorrow feeling a lot better, Xenobia.

    Evening.

This forum is part of my daily routine - checking to see if there are any new threads, learning or sharing with fellow gardener’s and chatting to some who I feel I know even though we have never met.

How lovely that people came together today to offer hugs and support.

I hope you are doing ok @Xenobia and can pop in soon.

@Xenobia, was it a better day today? I know the lower temperature helped me although I'm still running on low reserves due to lack of sleep through the heat! I do hope your day was a better one today! 🤗

A bit better today, certainly, WonkyWomble (and everyone else who has been so kind) -
I hope everybody else has had a good day!
