Debas, have a nice time at wedding. Wish fiance's daughter all the best.
Hot morning here. We are in new heath wave so it's very pleasant morning at 27℃. I promised you some photos but spent whole day at cottage, and didn't have time or energy when I came home. First I must consolidate all duties (school and cottage) and rearrange my free time. But enough of complaining, it's tea time.
Good morning everyone .Debs I hope that the wedding goes well .Enjoy the day . LB have a great time at the show . I hope the weather is kind to you.Hello Ante we will look forward to seeing your photos but essentials need doing first and you need time to rest too .
Morning everyone, The sun is shining at the moment, hope it stays for the day. Rain can arrive during night. Hope the wedding goes well and the weather is kind to you. Have a lovely day. @Ladybird4 Hope the weather stays dry for you too, have lovely day at the flower show. @Ante1 hope you can have a relaxing day. We're look forward to seeing your photos, but essentials at the cottage and school are important. Take care. @Rubee hope your OH is feeling better now the weather is cooler. Need another cup of tea ☕
The plane was 2 hours late yesterday. It arrived late at Bergerac which meant it had to wait until the plane for Rotterdam, which was the one after it, had taken off. OH met me at Stanstead.
The lawn is a bit of a mess, moles and drought. There are still a lot of living plants but not nearly as much colour as my French garden. The Busy Lizzies have died but the nicotianas and nemesias are fine. I haven't really inspected it yet, only looked out of the window. Just seen, from the landing window, that the Malvern Hills rose, which was huge, looks very, very unhappy. OH has been watering it though.
Our road is closed, the end we use to go to Diss and Morrisons, so we are going to Waitrose today, further away, and a light lunch in a very old pub.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Morning all. LB it’s good Lily can savour her treats now. Enjoy the flower show. Lily hope the power cut is over and you can have some tea. Heavier rain today but really needed. Ante enjoy your time at the cottage and hope all your pets are doing well.
Hello all ... just popping in to say Hello! ... life has been a wee bit hectic here over the past couple of weeks, with plumbers digging up the downstairs cloakroom floor to find a leak ... but it wasn't where we thought it was and to repair it would need taking out the stairs and moving us into a hotel for a week then getting joiners to replace the stairs etc etc etc ... unsurprisingly the insurance company weren't keen on that ... we asked if the plumber could reroute the pipework and he said that was just what he would advise but the insurance company usually weren't keen on that either ... but he must have good powers of persuasion as they've agreed to it ... so he emptied the saucepan cupboard, capped off the existing hot water supply to the cloakroom and is coming back on Tuesday and Wednesday to reroute the pipework ............ weve decided to live on takeaways for a couple of days ... and today I'm getting ahead with the laundry as the kitchen will be out of action for a bit. Thank the dogs for plumbing and pipework insurance 🙏
Hope the wedding is marvellous @debs64 ... that you all enjoy the day and that the happy couple's future together has not too many of life's hiccups in store for them.
I've not been able to read very far back ... I'm prepping beans for the freezer and making soup for OH's flasks etc ... and watching the European Championships along with @Biglad ... but I hope you're all coping ok with the heat and drought and that our gardens are able to bounce back and look marvellous again without too much work and expense!
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I had a bit of rest till now, but it's still hot and damp. I saw on the news about enormous storm in Italy, and I'm bit worry because it comes here. Hope in much milder version. I'll take ice tea and sit on balcony. Luckily it's cloudy.
