Orchid regrowing up Stem

Hi iv have this orchid for a couple of years now, the leaves all fell off and stem started to die but now it’s started growing half way up the stem? I’m not much of a gardener and not sure what to do. Cut it repot the stem so the leaves are at the top of the soil? Or just leave till it grows a bit more?
