    I personally think that something should be done to control the grey's they are so prolific.

    The trouble is , even if you wipe out all the greys, (which are not native, they belong in America), the cute red squirrel cannot cope with the loss of habitat. Greys are much more adaptable , which is why they have taken over. Red squirrels are much fussier over what they will eat.

    They're ok as long as they keep off my seed feeders.

    I aggree fidget,but i the pine are replanted e.t.c the habitat could be increased to help them.the pines are fast growing tree anyway.

    But they have discovered my figs and grapevine.

    They have irradicated the greys from the Isle of White and have a flourishing red squirrel population. Can't we do what they did there?

  • Add chilli powder to bird seed to deter them. Squirrels hate it birds can't taste it!!

    Chilli doesn't bother my squirrels. They just sort it out.
