Ha ha, yes I imagine that if I had seen any of them I would have felt disappointed that they didn't want to talk to me, let alone answer my inane questions 😆
Being a long way to travel for us we stayed in Birmingham for a couple of nights ,and also visited there Botanical gardens which we thought was very good .I also thought there was a good choice of plants which I wouldn’t get at garden centres here in the north east ,I purchased a large Sarracinia Salvias and pond plants which I couldn’t get local..
Hi @AnniD. We had a really good day, met up with some friends and as my OH and one of my pals are a bit foodie and the other a bit garden-y there was something for everyone! We were lucky to be there on Friday so the weather was gorgeous, but I'm sure we missed out on a lot of things cos it was a bit too hot! Did see Monty navigating the crowds, eyes front, and a Minder to keep the lovely, wobbly old ladies (self included!) at bay. I also got some very useful info from him during the Q&A in the theatre. Monty spoke directly to my face! 😂 Bought some nice stuff, and I didn't think it massively over-priced, which was a bonus. Already planning a two-day trip next year and will definitely invest in a pull-along cart so I can take a few ankles out along the way. 😏

Glad you enjoyed it @Heartinthedirt. Those trollies are the work of the devil ! I have spent more time looking at the floor to make sure one wasn't going to take me out, than looking at the exhibits in the various Floral Marquees at shows. There's a big Premier lnn at the NEC that you can book nearly a year ahead, that's all l'm saying
I actually thought those trollies were just something you borrowed just while you were there, then was surprised to see them on sale! I saw a few people get tripped over by them ha! I actually wish I had gone on Friday, but annoyingly my friend wanted to go on the Saturday. Sounds you like had a better time @Heartinthedirt I am jealous you got to see Monty! I did see Frances Tophill as she was giving a talk about the garden she had made but she's not as good
I think I'm the odd one out on this thread with regard to her garden, I thought it looked a mess and would be more fitting for a scrap yard. I prefer informal gardens with bits and bobs here and there rather than park like ones but that's a step too far for me. It's a good job we're all different.
I agree with you Uff but her bug hotel has given me an idea for re-purposing an old wooden chest of drawers we were about to take to the tip. OH has got the drawers but I could fill the carcass with old logs, bits of branches, old roof tiles etc etc. and have a go.
Interesting video @Fire so thanks for posting that.
