oh, really? that is encouraging! the ones i have seen on the net show a much more open, a bit ruffled bloom, not this geometrical shape, like this:

and she is supposed to be very fragrant, these ones had no scent at all. or maybe just very light. but maybe one has to wait for that too🤔

..thanks again...  I have to defer to Suesyn as she has this rose.. it's been a long time since I grew it but to be honest, I thought the blooms looked too full and not typical... Mme AC usually has flowers that are blousy and of looser formation, and scented like you say... those look quite different to what I recall..
The foliage on Mme AC is quite modern looking so I allow for that..

Your MAC foliage looks quite different to mine @murasaki, mine is more pointed, finer and less shiny. It’s not in bloom at the moment, but the blooms were slightly nodding and less full. It’s young though and I haven’t seen enough of it to be sure.

of looser formation, yes, that's the word i was looking for! i thought so too, that's why my doubts. Thanks for the input @Suesyn and @Nollie.
i guess we'll have to wait and see how it develops, i think things will become clearer soon:)

  • What about The Generous Gardener? On the Facebook group for DA roses there are pictures of one that's grown to over 5 meters and the owner expects it to keep going. Does anyone have experience with GG as a very tall climber?

I'm looking for a very tall climber that would repeat well and has good fragrance. I plan to plant it near the house and train it on a large wooden structure to climb on the balcony at the first storey then even higher to the roof of the house if possible. So we're talking at least 6m tall, maybe up to 10-12meters.

So far I think Mme. Alfred Carriere may fit the bill but I wonder if there are others too? I realize when asking so much I can't be picky about the color...
I’m addition to Mme AC, these are also some very tall climbers:

    Desprez a Fleurs Jaunes

Cooper’s Burmese - is once flowering though

    Cecile Brunner

Never grown any of them but they fit what you are looking for (except Cooper’s which is once flowering).
