I just plant what I like and don't really worry about clashing colours. If the plant interests me I'll try it. I do plant is multiples though on the plants I've grown myself (which is most of the garden), so there is repeated harmony.

The colours in the borders change throughout the seasons and I'd get really bored if I li it the colour palette.

I’ve got different areas in my garden as half sits in shade the other full sun. Purely by accident I’ve ended up with a variety of purples with some white then a couple of bursts of orange.

Most of my selections have been made to suit the environment it sits in over its colour scheme which I landed on by accident.

It wasn't  deliberate  but a colour  scheme has evolved  . However,  It is extremely loose. I certainly wouldn't  kill something  because  it was the wrong colour.  But if it was pale lilac or barbie  pink, I wouldn't  give it any encouragement

I have an inverse garden compared to your list. I have one part where I try NOT to have pink and one where I try NOT to have yellow. I haven't succeeded in either endeavour. Other than that, I just grow what will grow here without a lot of looking after - there's more that won't than that will - cold, windy garden with acidic clay soil. It's currently dominated by the self seeding elders that I've allowed to grow up around the edges to give some shelter - they are blooming very strongly this year.

    I have a Cottage garden
Im tending not to buy pink. 2 years ago My garden was mainly pink and I didnt realise just how much. Ive introduced a lot more yellows, whites and oranges which look nice with my blues.

I've done that on occasion... The problem is when I get given a plant whose colour does not fit in the general colour scheme of my garden.

I plant what I like, where I like.
    No rules for me.
If I like it , it stays. If I don't , it goes.
