I Donation as well - to my eye it's more of a medium pink. I think it must be pretty tolerant of less-than-ideal conditions because I kept it in a not-big-enough container for many years (before I knew any better) then planted it in the ground in the sandy soil, with compost but it still drains like a sieve.
