I cut the bottom of 1L plastic bottles and stick the top of the bottle into the top of the compost and fill it to the top and I know how much water each plant is getting, and if it is dry I will fill it again, I have never had any trouble.
Absolutely agree -they look great. I doubt if I'd have been able to grow any fruit or veg very successfully when I was just starting out. It's great to have a source like this forum though, because what might seem simple for someone who's been doing it for decades, isn't the case for those who haven't being doing it for any time at all. Back then - when I were a lad, it was books or Geoff Hamilton or whoever else was on TV, and it wasn't always useful - because sometimes basic stuff wasn't covered well enough. I think that's still the problem
Don't change your quote just yet @Heartinthedirt - for another reason as well I'm always reminded of the Paul Simon song whenever I see it - The Dangling Conversation. ' #and you read your Emily Dickinson, and I my Robert Frost, and we note our place with bookmarkers, that measure what we've lost ' Gorgeous song.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Thanks @Fairygirl 😊 I don't know that song, but I'm hunting for it now. Am partial to a bit of Paul Simon as well as Robert Frost. Edit: Wow, how beautiful and sad. Having ALL the feels here 😔
