    Agree with the other 2 IDs, although there are quite a few dark Sambucus, all fairly similar   :)

    It seeds everywhere and grows very thick and compact, fast. Luckily it's easy to dig out if you want to.

    I didn't find sedge easy to dig out but it had seeded cheek by jowl with a pampas grass.  I weed it out when I see it now but I do have a pretty golden one.

    Free plants are fine if they're desirable. That sedge isn't  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    I have Sambucus 'Black Lace' and waiting for the flowers to open to make Elderflower Cordial.
