The shrubs I was after (but which were only being offered for sale by a seller in Holland) were two boxes (buxus sempervirens) of the columnar variety "Graham Blandy", which needs no trimming as it grows tall.  The seller in Holland passed my enquiry to their agent in the UK who has written the following to me:

You have requested a delivery of 2 large 100/125 buxus sempervirens. I am happy to offer the price of £180 for both. I can definitely import them in with my next order in October but you would have to collect from our nursery. The fees are for the plants with vat, the import certificate and the import fees delivery to the UK.

I don't want to pay £180 for the two shrubs, as well as have to drive to the other side of the country to collect them, and have to wait until October.  So I have bought two ordinary box shrubs (about 60cms tall) from my local nursery for £3.50 each, and hope eventually to have trained them into the shape I want.

It’s procedures and additional costs of the paperwork tho @Obelixx, but nowhere near as much as some are claiming! All my questions are of the ‘what happens if the UK bans’ nature but as I say, I don’t know the answers and you are right, far too taxing for politicians’s wee brains 🤔
